The Evaluation Process
At Indiana Ballerz, tryouts are more than a talent search; they are an invitation to a culture of excellence. Our 4-phase evaluation ensures each student-athlete aligns with our faith-based mission and high standards of accountability.
01. SKILL
Fundamental proficiency, ball-handling, shooting mechanics, and defensive footwork.
02. IQ
Court awareness, decision-making under pressure, and understanding of team systems.
03. INTEGRITY
Attitude, coachability, and peer leadership. Character is evaluated as much as talent.
04. ACADEMICS

WHAT ARE THE SEASON FEES AND WHAT DO THEY COVER?
Fees cover tournament entries, gym rentals, uniforms, insurance, and any lodging fees. We maintain full transparency with costs to ensure player development remains the priority. Financial aid inquiries are handled with strict confidentiality.
HOW OFTEN ARE PRACTICES AND GAMES?
Teams typically practice 2-3 times per week with weekend tournaments, usually playing 3-5 games. Discipline and punctuality are non-negotiable standards for all student-athletes and families to ensure optimal team growth.
WHAT IS THE ACADEMIC ACCOUNTABILITY POLICY?
We are student-athletes first. We monitor academic progress and require a minimum standard of performance. Basketball is the platform, but education is the foundation for long-term success.
HOW ARE PLAYERS EVALUATED DURING TRYOUTS?
Evaluations focus on skill fundamentals, basketball IQ, coachability, and character. We look for players who demonstrate discipline and a hunger for development rather than just raw talent.
