Tough Loss to TSI Prime 54-56

Indiana Ballerz played TSI Prime in the first game of bracket play in Franklin, IN, at the Best of the Midwest MYT tournament on Sunday, May 31st, 2026 @ 8:30 AM at Franklin Community High School. There was a lot of heart and toughness in this game, with upcoming PG for the Indiana Ballerz, Trace Riggins out of North Daviess fouling out, the Ballerz were facing a lot of uncertainties on what could unfold in this game. With players like Braxton Michael(OV) & his defensive prowess, Leland Kinzer(NC) and his shooting abilities, Benson Hancock(ND) with his all around play, and Bryson Hays(OV) with his leadership, the team came together and rallied back from a 15 point deficit and took the lead 52-50, going on a 18-5 run with now 1:31 remaining in the game. The other promising defensive guard for the Indiana Ballerz, Braxton Michael with his tenacity and hunger on defense creates a turnover and gets the ball back for the Ballerz. Coach Hudson calls a timeout and gets the boys fired up for their great play and discipline. The Ballerz in their first year are looking like they could take down a known team and continue on to the Semi-Finals. Coach Hudson tells them to get the ball up the court and just stall time, no need to shoot, with TSI Prime in the bonus we can afford to make them foul. So they did and knock down both free throws, 54-50. TSI gets us into foul trouble down the court with a missed shot and knocks down both free throws, upon the inbound for the Ballerz after the made free throws from TSI making the score 54-52. Passing the ball in, it gets knocked out of bounds, the ref calls the pass in out on black, ball goes to TSI. They run a good spacing move in the box on the inbound, add 2 to the scoreboard for TSI. 54-54. Michael gets the inbound and gets the ball up the court, about 30 seconds on the clock. Instead of stalling time and holding for last shot, we drive to the basket hoping for a foul call, miss the shot, get no foul call and TSI has a fast break. 54-56. With 8 seconds left, Coach Hudson calls his last timeout and creates something for their shooter Leland Kinzer(North Central). Inbound comes from oppositite side of the court, TSI pressing, Michael gets the ball to Hancock(ND) who gets doubled and takes the last shot not knowing of the time. Hits off the rim and glass, Hays fought for the rebound and put back but time expired. Tough game for the Indiana Ballerz, who are showing they can be a positive competing force in the coming years.
